I’ve been in the fabulous party city of Belgrade for a couple of days now, and I am staying at the ‘Pug’ themed hostel Trip and Sleep.
How to get to Trip and Sleep Belgrade
Getting to Trip and Sleep from the Airport is really easy. Take the 72 bus (you need Dinars!) from the airport to the last stop (Zeleni Venac). See my previous article on Arriving in Belgrade.
From Zeleni Venac, you need to cross Brankova Street (you will see the Mc Donalds) and go up the hill through Carice Milice Street. You pass a small park on your left-hand side and continue along Gracanicka Street. You walk past a big yellow building on your left side and keep walking to beginning of the street (in the direction of Kalemegdan park). Trip and Sleep hostel is in the first building on your right side, you will see the hostel sign with pugs on it!
really friendly night porter who will be available by mobile telephone if you arrive later than 11 pm, so it really is a 24-hour hostel.

I’m just very eager to meet Mimi the Pug, the hostel Mascot, who is currently staying with family because her mommy is away in the USA!
Shared dorms at Trip and Sleep are clean and comfortable. This place is excellent value for money too – you can get a mixed dorm from just €1! That’s about 70p a night in low season and mid-week! So, it’s even cheaper to fly to Belgrade for a weekend of drinking and exploring, than it is to stay in your home town back in the UK!
Security is very good in this hostel because as well as having a lockable room (keys not codes) you also get an individual locker for your valuables. There is also a code to enter the main door.
Trip and Sleep Hostel – The Best Location in Belgrade!
The best thing about Trip and Sleep Hostel (other than the Pug theme, of course) is the location – it is situated on Gračanička 1 Street off Knez Mihailova, the main cafe and shopping street in Belgrade. Trip and Sleep is really close to the Witch Bar and some fabulous Belgrade restaurants including Manufactura and Boutique.

I really liked the common room which has swings in it – this has been the perfect place for us to socialize, do some social media and share a beer in the evening with new friends. Our beer of choice is the Serbian beer, Jelen!
There is free WIFI at the hostel. It can sometimes need rebooting, so if you can’t get online, just let one of the members of staff know and they will reboot the rooter for you. I also quite often sit in the nearby cafe’s such as Boutique to blog and use social media, because it is so cheap to sit and have a coffee in Belgrade.

Trip and Sleep Facilities
I love the drinks machine because I can get my hot chocolate every day for just 50 Dinars – that’s about 30p! Buy the tokens from reception and then use the token for the machine (the hot drinks machine doesn’t take cash).
However, the hostel itself has a basic kitchen and a shared fridge, which makes it cheap and easy to do some basic meal preparation and save Dinars! I have been to the nearby MAXI supermarket to stock up on bread, cheese, milk, and cereals. Be aware that there is no kettle, but you can boil water on a small stove.
Trip and Sleep hostel has great facilities including laundry and towels at an extra charge. They will lend you a hairdryer for free, which was great for me, as I traveled to Belgrade hand luggage only.
Trip and Sleep also have a partner travel agent, which is Travel Time Collection, just a few meters down the street. Bojan at Travel Time Collection will look after you and advise you on trips in Belgrade and beyond, including underground Belgrade and tours of Novi Sad.
